PIEZO KINETICS, INC. EXPANDS PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Bellefonte, PA |
| |
|
| |
Piezo Kinetics Inc. announced today that they have recently completed an increase in production capacity of their Piezoelectric manufacturing facility by 40% to cover the needs of current and new customers. |
| |
|
| |
Company President Steve Dynan stated that “this increase in capacity is the direct result of our current and future customer’s requirement for decreased lead-times and improved delivery schedules. Many of our customers are being required to lower inventory levels to reduce costs and still maintain their product delivery commitments. Our goal is to make this a win: win situation for our customers by reducing our manufacturing cycle times leading to a reduction in lead-times. |
| |
|
| |
PKI is responding to the almost universal cry for faster deliveries in much of our industry. When asked, our customers have responded that delivery is right up there with quality as the most important factor when choosing a vendor to supply piezoelectric ceramic materials. PKI deliveries are already considered among the best in the industry, and certainly the best in North America, is expecting to maintain that position and work toward improving on that reputation. We have spent the last several years striving to provide the highest quality materials in the market and we felt it time to address the other side of that equation, all the while maintaining the high quality our customers have come to expect.” |
| |
|
| |
For almost 30 years Piezo Kinetics, Inc. has designed and manufactured a full range of piezoelectric components and assemblies for all industrial and government sectors and has the unique reputation of delivering a high quality, consistent product in generally half the lead-time of the industry standard. PKI continues to add value to our customers by providing products in the form of higher level assemblies and completed devices. |

PIEZO KINETICS, INC. ANNOUNCES THE DEVELPOMENT OF PROCESSES TO DRAMATICALLY IMPROVE FLATNESS IN POLARIZED PIEZOELECTRIC CERAMIC
Bellefonte, PA |
| |
|
| |
Piezo Kinetics, Inc. announced today that they have developed proprietary processes and measurement techniques that enable piezoelectric ceramic components to be manufactured with a flatness of under 5µm. "This breakthrough comes as a result of striving to meet the demands of our customers who are looking for flatter and flatter parts" said company CEO Steve Dynan. |
| |
|
| |
Mr. Dynan continued by stating "the development of these processes is of special importance to our customers who are building Langevin (sandwiched or stacked) style transducers where securing an intimate bond at the ceramic joints is crucial to omitting losses in the transducer and eliminating failures due to cracking. Ultrasonic welders and ultrasonic medical transducers are just two areas that will benefit from this work as they require a transducer that delivers a consistent and repeatable signal to the tip of the device. However this should also be important to any transducer manufacturer that is bonding our ceramic to any surface." |
| |
|
| |
PKI has been developing these processes for several months and found that one obstacle to success was the ability to measure the flatness down in the range of the demand. Once this equipment was located and installed the real process work could begin and within a few months techniques were developed to achieve a repeatable process. This is but one of many programs that show PKI's dedication to providing our customers with well researched solutions to meet any performance challenges they may have. This breakthrough put's PKI in a position to begin producing components that require flatness below 5µm on a production basis, as well as having the ability to 100% certify the flatness characteristics, with enough capacity to handle all of the needs of the industry. |
